Housing Applications

The housing applicaton is entered into Banner Web. It is created with a status of F. There is a 300 charge that is inserted into TSAAREV once they hit submit if they do not already have a deposit. Once the student pays the 300 by coming into the Business office or the web, there is a script that runs to create a deposit. This script is ran every 15 minutes. Please refer to the script documentation about the details. This updates the status to an AD. Once all requirements are met, there is a script to update the status to AC. Then they are ready to be placed in a room.

Criminal Histories

A request for a criminal history is created on the WCHHIST table when a housing applicant paids their deposit. The script which creates these is located on VULTURE. It is ran every 15 minutes. The status code is set to a PE. At that time the request shows up on the web page for public saftey to run the history. PS enters all of the information into the form and hits submit. Once they hit submit, if a student has a status of RR it showes on the housing web page for review. Below you will find the status codes.

The RC is assigned when public safety only runs an IQ. Which means there is no history. There is nothing for you to review. The history is accepted.

The RR is assigned when public safety runs an IQ and a FQ. Those are set so you can review them on your side. You should receive something from PS on these students.

The RA is when you approve student who previously had an RR.

The RD is when you deny the student who previously had an RR.

The GR is grandfathered and is no longer valid.

Below are the web sites that are used for housing. They all can be found on our web site at http://www.gdn.edu/departments/resources/campus.asp. They are under the staff resources heading.

Guarantor Manager - This is used by the business office to update guarantor information. 

Housing Database - This is what Tonya uses to update the criminal histories on students.

Public Safety Database - this is what public safety uses when they are entering criminal histories.  

Problems

1. Most of the issues are due to timing with the scripts.

2. I always check the needs report before I do any research. In most cases everything is fine by the time they call me.

3. Any issues with guarantors goes to Crystal first. If she has an issue she will call. She knows how to fix most issues.
