Add printer to papercut release station

 Problem Description :

Follow when you need to tie a printer to a PCut release station

 Resolution :

1. Add printer to pcut server print managment using the HP Universal Printing PS driver

2. Printer should automatically show up in the Papercut console at https://pcut:9192/admin under Printers tab

3. Click on the printer name to access the settings in Pcut admin console and make sure 'Enable hold/release queue' is checked and Release Mode is set to 'User Release'. Leave all other settings as default

4. Continue under Printers tab and find the virtual print queue (pcut\gdnvprint). Click on the name and check the box for the printer(s) that you are adding/replacing under the Job Redirection Settings area.

5. On the pcut server navigate to the following location in windows explorer: c:\Program Files (x86)\PaperCut NG\release

6. Each release station should have a config.<<computer name>>.properties file. If this is a new release station - create a new file by copying an existing one and rename to match the computer name of the release station (ex. config.gdn12345.properties).

Release station software runs off of a share on PCut server. Setup a shortcut within the startup folder on the Release station (\\gdnXXXX\c$\Users\lptone\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup) which runs \\pcut\PCRelease\pc-release-secure.exe.

7. Open the corresponding config file for the release station and add/replace the printer in two different places (show-jobs-from-queues and releases-on). Save

8. Reboot the release station to ensure that it pulls in the modified configuration.

The printer should now be connected to the release station that is in close proximity.
