Getting MAC address and Serial Numbers of Extreme Switches

Problem Description : 

After installing Extreme switches alone or in a stack, the MAC address and Serial Number will be needed for CSD Inventory and to send to Carousel for maintenance/warranty registering.

 Resolution : 

1 - Telnet to the switch/stack and login as admin

2 - Run the "show stacking configuration" command to display the MAC address of the switch/stack by slot number

3 - Run the "show version" command to display the serial number by slot number (example serial number: 800306-00-01 1043G-80386)

4 - Enter this information into the CSD Computer Inventory.

5 - Send the information to Carousel (Brian O'Conner) for their maintenance/warranty records.
