Guardscan

 Category : Gordon College\PC Software

 Problem Description :

License expires on Guardscan (or PC dies and installing it on new one)

 Resolution :

1) Confirm in your records which key is being used for the Server PC. Please provide the key.

2) Attempt to run the application GSServerSetup.exe on the GuardScan folder on the Server PC.

 a) If the GSServerSetup.exe successfully executes, click on the License Manager button and confirm that the key is correct. Copy the HardwareID in the License Manager screen, and include it in the response.

 b) If the GSServerSetup.exe shows an error screen (similar to the one that you provided below), please e-mail a screen-shot of the GSServerSetup.exe screen.

For Terminal Key: SCLG-8NVF

Hardware ID: 7018-F373-AD34-BFC4-E112-FA53-7EE4-1F67

Please follow these instructions to restore operation.

 1. Back up the GuardScan folder to an external location.

 2. Extract the attached License Files into a Temporary Folder

 3. Copy the extracted license files from the temporary into the GuardScan folder, overwriting the original license files.

 4. Check the GSServerSetup.exe for correct Operation.

1.On the back-end Server PC, run the program: GSCompactDatabase.exe found in the GuardScan Folder (on the back-end Server PC)

2.Look for the option to "Reset the Hardware ID". This screen varies based on the version installed.

3.Either click on the Terminal Key that has the issue (TGRW-BOVN). If you cannot click on this key, then just click the "Reset the Hardware ID" option, and it will prompt you for the key, and enter the key.

4.Click OK, you should receive a success message that the Hardware ID was reset.

5.Scan a card on the Terminal, and verify operation. This step will also lock that terminal on the Server into the updated Hardware ID.
