Problem Description :

 Resolution :

******************************* NOW USING OnGuard 2013 (see Best Solution #284) **********************************************

1. Install from W:New Machine Setups\OnGuard 2009 set up

2. Accept license agreement and click Client button

3. Accept defaults of Typical System and SQL Server, click Next (custom and make sure discovery service is installed, last choice on menu all others are already there) all features except "Device Discovery Console" should be installed. our license doesn't include the console.

4. Next, 2 Browser windows will popup for licensing host and database. Do not select any drive/folder, just click Cancel on each popup.

5.Enter crow for the license server and leave 8189 as port. Enter raptor for location of database. Click Next.

6. Click Install.

7. Wait for application to install. It can take a fairly long time (be patient) and several black "DOS" windows may open. If prompted to install any pre-requisite hardware, do so as needed.

8. After installation runs for a while, you will be prompted for a Security Utility Disclaimer Notice. Click Agree.

9. Another Security Utility window will popup stating that some system setting will be changed. Click OK.

10. Click Apply on the Security Utility box.

11. Click OK to popup that setting were applied.

12. Click Close on the Security Utility box. The Apply button should now be dithered out.

13. Click OK on warning about Windows Update or Service Packs.

14. Click Finish on the Installation wizard.

>>>> Steps Below apply to modifying an existing install if server name changes, etc. After a clean install using steps above, the instructions below are not required. <<<<<

To Modify settings:::

There are 2 places outside of the "c:\program files\onguard" folder that need configuration.

1. ODBC setup called Lenel contains database access info

2. C:|windows\acs.ini contains license server info

*******to get program to hold camera*******on a machine with an existing install,

rerun install, modify, then add the discovery service.

If you add a user to active directory, one that will be using the onguard program, the account must be added to users in Lenel and linked to the gdn directory, under the user tab.
