How to setup StarBoard EM Panel on Windows 7
Problem Description :
StarBoard EM Panel software does not function properly on Windows 7. (Will not calibrate)
Resolution :
NOTE: Windows 7 will not support Serial connector for Starboard. Must use USB connector. Also when installing Starboard Software do not install any other drivers. Only install the Wacom drivers. If you try to install a tablet driver from both Wacom AND Starboard Software you will have issues.
EM Panel works best using a 1024x768 screen resolution.
1. Go to W:\New Machine Setups\StarBoard EM Panel for Windows 7 and run WacomTablet_6.1.6-7.exe. This will install the drivers for EM Panel. DO THIS BEFORE YOU PLUG USB into PC.
2. After install completes plug in USB for StarBoard.
3. Now install StarBoard Software by running Setup.exe under the SBS0933_WIN folder.
4. Choose StarBoard Software 9.33 option from screen.
5. Click Next until you get to Custom Setup screen and then make sure that all drivers have a Red 'X' as shown below. Only the Wacom driver installed in Step 1 is allowed.
6. Continue with installation until you get to a screen that asks if you want to install the HID Display Driver. Choose NO when you get to this screen. The Wacom driver for Windows 7 that we installed in Step 1 is used instead of this driver.
7. Continue with the rest of the installation.
8. When the installation completes Go to Control Panel and choose Wacom Tablet Properties. Choose the Calibrate tab and then click on the Calibrate.. button. Then use the Stylus to calibrate the pointer on the EM Panel.
9. Test the StarBoard Software by opening and writing text. The EM Panel should now be ready.
