ADP Java/Browser Requirements and Troubleshooting Tips
Problem Description :
ADP functions for timestamp users and managers/supervisors are not working properly
Resolution :
1.Must have Java 1.6.0_06. This is the ONLY version of java that will run eTime. You can download it here:
http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/6u6/index.html
Download JRE
Select Offline Installation
1.Java update 1.6_07 will attempt to install as an ActiveX control, you cannot use this version. ONLY 1.6.0_06
2.ADP Portal should be opened in its own new clean window of Internet Explorer ONLY.
To ensure this, you can either disable tabbed browsing (not popular choice)
Create a new shortcut to Internet Explorer and change the properties to show:
1.Target should point to "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -new http://portal.adp.com
UPDATE: 6/18/09 All Faculty and Staff should now have a shortcut automatically placed on their desktop when they login. Recommended that employees use the shortcut to access ADP/eTime
3.eTime is slow to load. It may sit on a white screen for upwards of 1 minute. It is especially slow the first few times it loads.
4.Pop-ups should be allowed for eTime. Various important messages are blocked otherwise.
5.Banner or GeorgiaView and ADP Portal/eTime CANNOT be open in the same window, it will error out and close
6.If the ADP Portal or eTime error out, you must close ALL internet windows open and re-open the portal
7.The workstations identified as having the Timestamp shortcut and any user who is a manager or a supervisor will need the Java version.
All other employees should be accessing their timecards via the “All other employee’s” link – this is an HTML version of the timecard.
8.If users cannot log into the ADP Portal, verify they are typing in the full username – adeangelis@USG
9.If users are unable to register for ADP Portal, they must use their legal name – William, not Bill, etc. ADP Does not recognize nicknames.
10.If users are not able to access eTime, it often means they did not add it. Have them go back to the “First Time Users Register Here” link on the Portal front page and go to “Add a Service”. If the service is added, have them delete it and add it back.
11.If users say they are unable to log in, verify they are using the “User Login” link.
The “Administrator Login” is for those users who are using the Practitioner access (EV5, ADP Reporter, BOSS, etc). Administrator Login requires a digital certificate.
