Configuration GPO in Active Directory for Group Targetting of WSUS Updates

Problem Description : 

Group Policy settings must be configured to target a WSUS group for updates.

 Resolution : 

Following setting is under GPO\Computer Configuration\Adminstrative Templates\System\Group Policy

1. User Group Policy loopback processing mode: set to Enabled and Merge mode.

Following settings are under GPO\Computer Configuration\Adminstrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update.

1. Configure Automatic Updates - Typical Lab setup below:

2. Specify intranet Microsoft update service location: Set to Enabled with http://wsus.gdn.edu for both detecting updates and statistics

3. Enable client-side targeting: Set to Enabled and enter the group name setup in WSUS console
