Remove System Center 2012 remotely

 Problem Description : 

If problems should arise on a PC and System Center was not removed by the packager during the LANDesk installation you can remove it manually by running a batch file. 

 Resolution : 

The batch has to be run as the system account and therefore must be run remotely. Here are the steps…

System Center 2012 Removal

1.       Open a command prompt from your PC

2.       W:     

3.       Enter

4.       cd “New Machine Setups\xp_remote”

5.       Enter

6.       remove_scav gdnXXXXX (replacing gdnXXXX with the name of the remote machine)

7.       You should see the batch file now running on the remote machine (as shown below). Once it is finished it will say ‘Done!’ Press any key to continue…

8.       Close the command prompt

9.       System Center and Endpoint should now been removed from the remote PC.

10.   You may want to reboot to ensure complete removal (Program Files may still show the shortcut to System Center 2012 but that is okay. If you click on it - it will tell you ‘Not Found’).
